NUAA Scholarships 2027: Types, Coverage and How to Get One
Every NUAA scholarship for 2027 explained: CSC, Jiangsu, Nanjing and Fly-High. What each covers, who's eligible and how to improve your chances.
Almost half of NUAA's international students receive a scholarship in their first year. About 40–60% get some kind of award, from a one-time CNY 10,000 grant to a full scholarship with a monthly stipend.
This guide explains every scholarship at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA) for 2027: what each covers, how you're considered and how to improve your chances. If you're a parent planning the budget, the "What you'd actually pay" section is for you.
The 30-second summary
No separate application. NUAA considers you for its scholarships automatically when you apply.
First come, first served. Applying early really matters.
One award per student. Scholarships can't be combined.
Nothing is guaranteed. Awards depend on your grades, CSCA score and profile.
Which scholarships can Bachelor's and Foundation students get?
Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC, Type A): full tuition, on-campus accommodation, comprehensive medical insurance and a living stipend of CNY 2,500 per month
Jiangsu Government Scholarship: full tuition, on-campus accommodation and comprehensive medical insurance (no living stipend from the 2027 intake)

Scholarships are first come, first served. Start your NUAA application to be considered.
1. Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC Type A)
The most generous award: tuition, a room on campus, insurance and a monthly stipend. It's open to students from all countries and is normally given for your whole program, as long as you meet the scholarship committee's requirements and attend all your classes.
It goes through the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in your home country, not through NUAA:
Contact the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in your country.
Check their website for deadlines and details.
List NUAA as your first choice, using Agency Code 10287.
2. Jiangsu Government Scholarship
Offered by Jiangsu Province, where Nanjing is located. It covers full tuition, your on-campus room and medical insurance. From the 2027 intake there is no living stipend, so plan for your own day-to-day costs. You're considered automatically with your NUAA application.
3. Nanjing Government Scholarship
A one-time award of CNY 10,000, and you can apply for it again every year of your degree.
4. NUAA Fly-High Freshman Scholarship
NUAA's own award for new Bachelor's students. It waives 100% of your first-year tuition: CNY 23,900 (about USD 3,400) for engineering, or CNY 22,900 (about USD 3,200) for International Business.
Not to be confused with the Fly-High Prizes for Master's and PhD students (see below), which are separate awards.
What you'd actually pay with a scholarship
A typical first year for an engineering student in a small double room costs about CNY 40,000–47,000 (tuition, dorm, residence permit, textbooks and living costs, before flights).
With the Fly-High Freshman Scholarship covering tuition, that drops to about CNY 16,000–23,000. With the Nanjing Government Scholarship, CNY 10,000 comes off the total.

How does NUAA decide who gets a scholarship?
Your academics: school grades and transcripts
Your CSCA score: a higher score improves your chances (learn about the CSCA)
Your background and experience: what makes your profile stand out
If you apply directly to the Bachelor's, the scholarship decision comes with your offer letter.
Starting with the Foundation? You get priority
Students on the Foundation + Bachelor's pathway (for those without a CSCA result yet) get priority for scholarships when they move into the Bachelor's, because the university already knows them.
Foundation students normally receive either the Nanjing Government Scholarship or the Fly-High Freshman Scholarship. You find out once you apply with your CSCA result during the Foundation program.
What happens in years 2, 3 and 4?
Freshman scholarships cover your first year. From year 2, you pay the standard tuition unless you win a new award. You can:
Reapply for the Nanjing Government Scholarship each year
Compete for the NUAA Academic Scholarship (up to CNY 10,000), based on your annual GPA and an overall review
So working hard in year one pays off.
Scholarships for Master's and PhD students
